Print Nightmare?
Yet another “Surprise” security hole with no current patch or fix. A new vulnerability has come to light targeting the Print Spooler services on all Windows based computers. This vulnerability dubbed “Print Nightmare” is already known to hackers, which means if they can get a “landing” on your computer or network via web browsing, phishing emails or social engineering, they have full control of everything. Oh, and pretty much every Windows server and workstation on the planet has this issue.
The Fix? If you don’t print from a machine or server, turn off that function. If you are a technology customer of Frankel Zacharia Technology Services you already have some safeguards in place for this and we are working to put additional restrictions in place for our clients until it is fixed. If you are not a current technology customer and not sure what to do, give us a call and we will be glad to discuss.
